March Madness Sunday Check in
Hello from the past!
Today is actually Friday for me, and I’m preparing my Sunday post a bit early because I’m traveling to England tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure my March Madness check in post was ready to go before I left!
We are quickly approaching the halfway point for this month. How is everyone doing with their goals? I have to admit, I’m not doing so well. I’ve had a whirlwind week with my unexpected trip. But I’m just going to keep trying and hopefully I can still get a solid word count for March. It’s not over yet! Speaking of…I will leave you with this video.

LOVED the vid, Jen! Enjoy your trip! As for today/Sunday, well…I’ll just keep trying. Moving forward with new scenes for my YA, and a read through/revise on the MG Synopsis. Slow it goes, but it goes!
Great video! I’ve been fighting to stay on the hope side of the hope/fear divide every step of this rewrite. Yesterday I didn’t write at all, but I did take a nap.
Back to work I go!
Superb Vid! Thanks Jen. Hope your trip is going well.
I’m caught up with my daily goals, but I’m not getting as far along on my ms as I’d hoped. I’m upping my daily from 500 to 750. The ms is going to be longer than I’d originally thought.
I got more done yesterday than I thought I would, so yeehaw.
Have fun in Europe!
Hey, shouldn’t you have at least ASKED before publishing my autobiography on video??? (and btw, I’m not nearly that skinny).
I’m taking a planned day off today, but just stopped by to see how everyone else is doing. Have a GREAT time in Europe, Jen!
Have gun on your trip! I hope it inspires you to get back on track with your MM goals when you get back
Despite not feeling well, I was able to get the chapter I’m working on roughed out and I started the next one. Now all I have to do is rough out the second chapter and polish them both before Wednesday - or at least that’s my goal.
Jen,
Unexpected trip to England. Whoa. That’s big. The video is awesome. The story of our writing lives. Thanks for sharing.
My goal at the beginning of the month was to finish my MG first draft. As of today, I’m at 14,000 words. So I guess I’m more than halfway. If I can keep up this 1,000 words a day pace, I should arrive.
I hope your trip goes well.
Wrote another 500 words today. Not great but not horrible. I’m actually only 1000 words behind my March goal. S’all gooood!
Love the video. Hope you don’t mind if I share it too. -Kai
Wrote a good amount of dialogue today. Now just need to back and fill in the action.
The last few days have simply drifted away into the ether. Almost no writing done due to all my energies going to tough personal stuff. Tonight, though, I think I can focus and will put in an hour or so after getting my son to bed. Hopefully this next week will be better. (”I hope…”)
Loved the video. So true to real life. Thanks for sharing.
I’m amazed I got any writing in today at all … weekends are brutal that way. But, I did. A little. I’m still counting it
After yesterday’s great progress, today was a huge disappointment. Tons of distractions and zero new scenes completed. But I have a plan and I know what I’ll be doing on the bus tomorrow morning!
It’s almost 11:00 on Sunday (I’m in AZ) and after a day of working on revisions, I’m not as far as I’d hoped (I wanted to be finished, but the novel had other ideas). Still, good things are happening and I’m pleased with the three chapters I did today. Only four more chapters to go(unless I keep adding more)!
Now, I’m going to climb into bed and get some sleep.
I’m too tired to watch the video, but I’ll come back and check it out in the morning.
See you tomorrow!
Cute video, Jen. The writer’s epic tale! I only managed to revise seven pages today, not a whole chapter, but nevertheless I’m motivated to say “I’ll keep trying.”
Have a great trip.
Great video. Have fun on your trip. I didn’t get any writing done today, but I did get more yard work done.
I’m about halfway through my revision, which puts me right about on track. Sunday morning, on my flight back home from a work conference in Orlando, I worked on the revision. It was nice to have that quiet time to work. Hope your week goes well!
PS
I thought the video was so totally awesome, I had to share it over here. Hope you don’t mind.
