How To Procrastinate

Everyone is always trying to figure out ways to stop procrastinating. But I am here today to share some excellent ways to procrastinate since I seem to be an expert in this area.

Step 1. My favorite. Spend hours on the Internet. This is very easy if you are on Facebook, Twitter and message boards. Also, if you subscribe to or visit many blogs. If you run out of things to look at, just wait for links to pop up on Twitter, and click every single one of them. Hours will go by this way.

Step 2. Download the free image editing software, Gimp, and spend hours making unimportant images to post in a blog post or on Twitter. (See above image for example.)

Step 3. Put some catnip on your cats’ scratching post and take pictures of them going crazy.

You can once again use this opportunity to spend time on the Internet. People seem to be very fond of cat pictures online.

Step 4. Decide that you need to “research” great first lines so you can come up with the best first line possible for your latest novel. You can pretend this is work. Go to your bookshelves and start reading the first line of every single book on your shelf. If you have many books, this will take a very long time.

Step 5. Now you have a mess from going through all your books. You need to reorganize your bookshelves. Once you’re done, take a picture and post it on your blog. By the time you’re done with all this, other people have no doubt posted new blog posts and tweets and you’ll have more reading material to help you procrastinate.

I’m a master of procrastination I am afraid. Its appalling how little I get done compared ti what I could.
