Friday Five

1. There’s an interesting online writing conference going on this weekend called FlyCon 2009. Check it out if you have the chance. Looks like several interesting workshops and panels will be going on.

2. I started reading Faerie Tale by Raymond E. Feist this week. I’ve loved all the other books I’ve read of his. This is quite different than Pug & Co. of Midkemia, but I’m enjoying it so far!

3. The Deadline Dames are having a cool writing exercise/contest over at their blog this week called Readers on Deadline. They’ll be hosting one every month, and I had a lot of fun participating. It actually helped me spark some ideas so go check it out!

4. I’m making decent progress with my WIP, but I’d still like to step up the pace a bit. Write or Die has been really helping me out. It’s definitely not a program for everyone, but it helps me focus when my mind is all over the place. The words I produce when doing this are quite rough, but my first drafts usually are anyway. Revisions are my friend!

5. Another busy weekend planned. I’ll be working on some final revisions for my agent, and I’ll be going skiing tomorrow. Last ski trip of the year, I’m guessing, since it’s already mid-March. So happy it’s almost spring!

All kinds of fun contests this weekend! I’d be all over them if it weren’t for busy schedules :(

Awww. Maybe next time!
