Challenge Week One

Time to report in for the first Monday of my self-given challenge. I’ve gotten a decent chunk of writing done, although I’m already a little behind. I was pretty busy yesterday and didn’t get any writing done once I got home.

Here’s what I have so far, but I’m not done writing for the day so my progress will go up later.

SHATTER ME: YA UF
7,010 / 70,000 Words (10%)

I’m hoping to double this by next Monday, but it’d be great if I end up doing more than that. The words are flowing better now I’m getting further into the story. Hoorah!

How is everyone else doing?

Okay, I’ve got 4456 words in out of approx 90,000. Yikes!

It’s not too bad considering I’ve just started it. And, 90k would be the finished product estimate. First drafts are always less, more bare bones.

Like you, I’m having my usual rough start. 14k words by next week? You can do it!

Over the last week I’ve written around 4300 words, but only 800 of those were on the main project - a large part was finishing off a short story, well, the rough draft of it.

However I have had something of a head start and my main WIP stands at around 21500/80000. If I can just get part the stage I’m at, which is going a bit slow, I should be able to make the challenge.

Awesome work! I’m not writing new words right now - just tweaking based on beta edit suggestions on one book and editing the second draft of another. I’m not getting as much done as I’d like, but this time of year is always slow for me.

Keep up the good words everyone. =o)

Michelle - Yeah, I tend to fill in several thousand words in the second draft.

Andrew - That’s a good chunk of writing to start out with. You can do it!

Gretchen - WRITE SOMTHING!

B.E. - Hey, that’s work though. Sometimes I think editing is more time consuming than new words. Everything has to be juuuuust right.
