Writing Update

I have something to admit: I haven’t written much this month. After completing revisions, I had a hard time getting into something else, but I think I’ve finally gotten my motivation back in the past couple of days.

I’m really, really loving the idea I got in the middle of first drafting CLASH. The one I’ve titled SHATTER ME. I’ve gotten to the point where I think about it all the time, plot threads are coming together in my mind, and I feel like I finally know my character well enough to write her story. It’s different than anything else I’ve written. It’s a little quieter. The way I handle The Bad Guy is a little different than I’ve ever done. I think it will be a challenge, and I love to be challenged. I’m not saying much more because I really want to keep this one close to my chest.

That being said, I still need to finish up my second draft of CLASH. I really love that story, too. I think part of my hesitation in working on something had to do with my inability to choose between projects. My answer is to work on both. Now, I don’t know if that’s necessarily a good idea, but revising and first drafting are two different processes. I figure it doesn’t hurt to try. If I can’t juggle both, then I’ll focus all my efforts on one of these.

Here’s my progress as of this morning. Right now, my goal is 1k a day of new words. So, we’ll see how I do next week.

Kind of a random question here: what is the word meter that you use?

and I love Clash too! I’m happy you’re still at it. Isn’t it awesome when the motivation returns after a break and you just can’t stop thinking about it! Love!

colby - Thanks, yay!

Steph - It’s a snippet of HTML I use. I tried commenting it here, but it’s showing up as the meter instead of the code. Email me if you’d like to see it!
