Week 1 of Sven

Posted by Jen on Sunday, November 16th, 2008 @ 11:48 pm

Week 1 of Sven has gone very well for me, most of my progress due to Write or Die. No joke, this program makes me stop my ridiculous habit of going back and forth between my manuscript, the internet, spreadsheets, email, website, other blogs, AIM, whatever you can name. I let distractions rule during my writing time, and I’ve realized if I force myself to focus, I get a lot more writing done. And it’s better. Probably because, you know, I’m focused on it instead of five million other things.

I ended up writing 10,975 words this week bringing me up to the 25k mark, yea! I’m ahead which is great for the days when I’ll need to focus my attention back on TG.

Clash: YA Urban Fantasy
25,019 / 70,000 Words (35.7%)

TG Status: I heard from my agent last week that I’ll be getting my notes soon! I’m not sure yet how many days I’ll have to take off CLASH, and Sven, to go through these so I’m glad I’ve been able to get ahead this week. I’m saving my seven “free days” for the holidays.

Woohoo, you go girl.

I think the Write or Die thing would be more like Write then Die. I need my little breaks - shake out my hands and get my brains ready to do the next round.

Hi Jen,

It’s Nancy (aka Pay It Forward from AW!). Glad you go Clash is coming along! I’m doing the same gig as you–revising for my agent and working on a new wip. You go girl!

Ack, strike the “you go” in front of Clash. I’m still sick and head full of air, if you can’t tell!

I’m impressed!! And proud! I’m surprised you haven’t started a fire on your keyboard yet. ;)

BE: Haha, that’s why I do it in increments. 500 here and then 1,000 there.

Nancy & Christa: Good to see you guys over here!
