First Draft DONE!!!

Time to celebrate and relax because I just typed “The End” in the first draft of my most recent WIP!

Current WIP
64,027 / 64,027 Words (100.00%) DONE!

Note: It’s shorter than the 70k goal. I have some editing to do and the addition of a scene so I’m hoping to get the number as close to 70k as possible during second draft phase. Why? I’m not sure. I like the 70k number for some reason. However, if it falls short in the end, no biggie. It’ll just be a few pages shorter.

Total words of first draft: 64,027
Chapters: 25 plus an epilogue
Pages: 227 (Hoping to get that up to 250ish)
Time spent: I wrote this in only 6 weeks. Yikes!
Coffees consumed: Numerous
Music listened to: Panic at the Disco, Coheed and Cambria, Kimya Dawson, Weeds Soundtrack
Genre: YA Paranormal

I just have to say that this story absolutely took over my mind for the past few weeks. I’m not sure I would have been able to throw myself into it so much and make such great progress if it hadn’t. The last book was not like this. Four months verses six weeks. That’s a big difference. I am also very, very tired. But it’s sooo worth it.
Anyway, I’m going to do some relaxation before getting down to the editing.

I can’t believe I finished another book!!!

Woo hoo…congrats! You must be so excited.

Between your news and the final act of Dr. Horrible, this is turning out to be quite a night. I’m feeling really inspired, although I don’t know if I want to write something or build a freeze ray (not a death ray or an ice beam) that will stop the world…
