My First Writers’ Conference!
My very first writers’ conference starts tomorrow. Eeeeeeeee! I’m going to be having a busy, full two days with the Fourth Annual New York Roundtable Writers’ Conference. It’s here in the city, and I am really looking forward to it. I’m a bit nervous, just because I don’t know exactly what to expect and I won’t know anyone, but the excitement is overpowering those queasy feelings.
I’ve been getting ready by researching the agents, editors, authors and other panelists scheduled to be there. I also got a little carried away and printed out some business cards from VistaPrint with my name, email address and website. I don’t know if I’ll end up using them, but it’s kind of fun to have them anyway.
I won’t be trying to pitch any agents because my manuscript is not complete, but I do hope to make some contacts and mingle with fellow writers. I also hope to learn about the craft and industry in the workshops and panels. I’m looking most forward to the query letter workshop, the fiction agent panel and the birth of a book panel.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a report on the first day!

Here is a place where you can get free business card magnets: http://www.web-magnets.com
You can convert those vistaprint cards in to magnets because they are peel and stick magnets.
