June 6 - Word Count 3,041
I chose Door #1 - Rewrite the first thousand plus words so that I could have the beginning and the heroine that I want. It was a lot of hard work, and I’m feeling pretty exhausted, but it’s worth it. I feel so much happier with this beginning, so much happier with this character and I’m a lot more excited about the story now.
And better yet? I managed 3,041 words tonight! Those were all completely new words because I tossed out everything I had done so far. So, my total word count is right where it should be. I’m on track, and I was able to do that even though I rewrote everything. Things are looking a lot better now than they did this morning when I was rereading the mess that was Beginning #1.
