A R G!

I just started, and I’m already struggling. My problem is simple - I don’t like what I’ve written so far. The mystery, whodunnit, the suspects, etc are all great. I like that. But the way I began the story and what I’ve developed on my character so far is just so….girly.

No that girly is a bad thing, but I’m writing a mystery novel, not a romance novel. And it’s going to be a bit girly anyway, but right now, it’s way more than I’d like.

In order to get rid of that problem, I’m going to have to rewrite the entire first scene because the scene I’ve written? Ain’t happenin. That means, all those words I’ve written would go bye bye.

So, I either have to rewrite the entire first 1,300 words or I have to keep that crappy beginning and stick with this annoyingly girly character I’ve created.

I do have a better (I hope) way to begin it and a way to morph the character I have into not being so blah. I just hate to be back at square one.

Oh, what to do. What to do.
